Bailey’s General Store will be hosting a virtual wine tasting on March 31 featuring two rare wines from Marchesi Antinori in Italy. Franco Zamboli, Florida Manager of Antinori, will be joining Wine Steward, Calli Johnson, to talk about the wines.

Antinori Guado Al Tasso Cont’Ugo Merlot is produced entirely as a new interpretation of the Bolgheri territory. This wine has deep complex notes and will be paired with Sicilian grilled swordfish kabobs with charred grape tomatoes and roasted peppers and onions.

The Antinori Conte Della Vipera Sauvignon Blanc is produced from a careful selection of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. This wine will be paired with Chef Karl’s Signature

grilled chicken spiedies, cocktail naan bread, and chimichurri.

“While these single varietals of wine are often found in other areas of the world, it is uncommon for an Italian producer to bottle a single varietal like these,”  says Calli Johnson, Wine Steward at Bailey’s General Store. “The winery is extremely proud of these particular wines.”

Those wishing to participate in the tasting can purchase your tasting package at least 48 hours ahead and pick up the wines with food pairings on the day of the event after 12 p.m. at Bailey’s General Store.
