None other than the Easter Bunny himself made a surprise visit to the Bank of the Islands’ Sanibel office on Friday.

“I heard about Bank of the Islands’ Easter Giveaway earlier this week, so I wanted to hop on over to help distribute jelly beans for anyone who may have missed it,” said Mr. Bunny.

Earlier in the week, as part of their ongoing Thankful Tuesday celebration of our island community’s continuing post-Ian resiliency, bank staffers had refreshments and a special Easter egg giveaway for customers and neighbors.

“We had so much fun welcoming everyone who stopped by Tuesday morning,” said David Lowden, V.P. of Private Client Relations. “All those who visited were invited to pick a golden Easter egg from our drawing basket. Five lucky winners found $100 bills in their eggs!”

Bank of the Island staffers also distributed We Love Our Islands vehicle decals. “This program lets a winning islander choose which non-profit will receive the Bank’s next donation. Over the years, more than $90,000 has been distributed through We Love Our Islands,” said Lowden. “Please stop by to get a new We Love Our Islands decal for your vehicle to help us support our island non-profits. After that, check at our Sanibel and Captiva offices or on our website weekly to see if your tag number has been chosen as the winner.”

The Bank of the Islands’ offices, including ATM operations, have both reopened after the hurricane. The Captiva office, located next to the Captiva Post Office at 14812 Captiva Drive, is open from 9am-2pm Monday-Friday, with a half-hour lunch closure at noon. The Bank’s Sanibel office is offering banking services from 9am-4pm Monday-Friday out of its temporary on-site operation on premise at 1699 Periwinkle Way at Casa Ybel Road. In addition, the Edison National Bank offices in Fort Myers at 13000 S. Cleveland Avenue and the River District office at 2105 First Street will continue to welcome all of the Bank’s island customers.

As the oldest locally owned and managed community bank on Sanibel and Captiva, Bank of the Islands is proud to be the winner of more than 50 “Best of the Islands” awards over two decades.
