BIG ARTS will host a multi-artist reception on Friday, May 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. to celebrate the opening of two new gallery exhibits – Art as Therapy in the BIG ARTS Dunham Family Gallery and The Inaugural Artists Collective in the Mezzanine Gallery. The reception is free and open to the public. It will feature the opportunity to engage with the artists while enjoying complimentary wine and light bites.

The collaboration between Hope Healthcare and Lee Health shares the vision of healing through art. Expressive arts, in all forms, strive to provide hope and healing through the creative process. This exhibit shares the journey of each artist during bereavement, grief, illness, depression, physical and emotional challenges, rehabilitation, and recovery. We hope this personal and powerful exhibit elevates the community’s awareness of artists’ special abilities that emerge during difficult times.

The Inaugural Artists Collective features BIG ARTS instructors exhibiting an eclectic body of work that includes a wide range of mediums including oil painting, watercolor pencils, acrylics, mixed media, fused glass, poetry and more.
