BIG ARTS is pleased to announce and welcome two new members to its Board of Directors: David B. Lowden and Rene Savarise.

David Lowden’s family have been residents of Sanibel since 1982.  A graduate of the University of Colorado, he returned in 1985 to make Sanibel his home.  His career in banking leadership on the island spans more than 25 years, starting with a small local bank called First Federal.  Today David is Vice President of Private Client Relations at Bank of the Islands. David and his wife, Kelly, have three children, all attending Florida universities.    David is a former board member of the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation and currently serves on the Heights Charter School board.

Rene Savarise is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and received her law degree in 1985 from the Duquesne University of Law.  She has been practicing healthcare regulatory law in Louisville, Kentucky, since 1989 and is currently senior partner with the international law firm, Dentons.  Rene and her husband, Jeff, vacationed on Sanibel for 30 years.  In 2017 they purchased a home in Butterknife, and they became residents in 2018.  Rene and Jeff are members of the BIG ARTS Platinum Club, Captiva Island Yacht Club and Sanibel Community House.

“We are truly fortunate to have David and Rene on board at BIG ARTS and are honored that they agreed to serve.  This is an important time in BIG ARTS evolution, and we are grateful to have their guidance and support,” said Janet Strickland, Chair of the BIG ARTS Nominating and Governance Committee.
