The SanCap Chamber celebrated a landmark post-Ian grand reopening on Sep. 7 at CVS Pharmacy, 2331 Palm Ridge Road on Sanibel Island, with one of its famous ribbon-cuttings.
“As one of the islands’ retail cornerstones since 2004, CVS, welcome back,” said John Lai, president and chief executive office of the SanCap Chamber. “Islanders and visitors, too, have anxiously awaited news of the reopening, a major achievement in Sanibel’s recovery. I think we all feel more secure having our pharmacy back on-island.”
“Our customers and patients have been incredibly supportive as we rebuilt, and we’re ready to welcome them to our new and improved Sanibel CVS,” said Paul Cross, store manager. “We couldn’t be more excited to be serving the community again.”
The new Sanibel store, which first opened Aug. 31 in time for the Labor Day weekend, includes an expanded pharmacy and private vaccination area, improved in-store delivery pickup area, and an updated layout and décor. Artwork by island artist Rachel Pierce brightens the exterior with colorful portrayals of the island’s natural beauty.
“It’s been a long road, but we’re ready and able to meet our patients’ pharmacy care needs,” said pharmacy manager Susie McClintock. “Our team can’t wait to begin filling prescriptions, providing trusted counsel and advice, and vaccinating community members just in time for cold and flu season.”
CVS Pharmacy offers thousands of products, including over-the-counter medications, beauty items, gifts, office supplies, and better-for-you food options.
“We appreciate and value the chamber of commerce’s support of Sanibel’s residents and businesses,” said Eric Dent, CVS district leader. “In the years since Ian, the chamber has been an important partner in the island’s recovery.”
