CHR Executive Director Nicole McHale has been recognized as the Southwest Florida Citizen Of The Year by SWFL Inc., the region’s Chamber of Commerce. This award honors an individual who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the betterment of Southwest Florida. A Sanibel resident for 30 years, McHale has played a strategic role in CHR’s fundraising efforts for many years. In addition to her leadership role at CHR, which she has held since May 2023, she serves as chair for the Sanibel Public Library District’s Board of Commissioners, has been an active volunteer and board member for F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva for 10 years, and has served in the roles of board chair and secretary.
McHale said these nominations affirm the dedication and focus of the entire CHR staff. “Our team brings their unwavering commitment every single day to service, mission and the people we serve,” McHale said. “As an organization, we’re deeply honored. As part of the team, I’m proud of every person I get to work alongside.”
