Community Housing and Resources, Inc. (CHR) is a non-profit organization that provides affordable housing for families and individuals who work and serve our island community. CHR’s focus is to get all residents back home as soon as possible after the storm that hit our area.

CHR would like to thank NBC 2 News and Wink News for interviewing one of our residents who was able to return to their home after the storm. The interview highlighted the challenges and the joys of coming back to a safe and comfortable place after a difficult time.

CHR would also like to thank Councilwoman Holly Smith, who was mayor before, during, and after the storm, for being there with the resident and supporting our mission. Councilwoman Smith has been a strong advocate for affordable housing and a valuable partner for CHR.

CHR would also like to thank our executive director Nicole Decker McHale, who has been working tirelessly to coordinate the recovery efforts and ensure that all our residents receive the assistance they need. Nicole has been leading our staff, volunteers, and donors in making a difference for our community.

CHR is grateful for the opportunity to share our story with the media and the public. We hope that this will raise awareness and support for our cause and inspire others to join us in sustaining our community.
