Coastal Vista Design, a coastal adaptive landscape architecture studio based on Sanibel Island, Florida, was recognized with multiple Professional Awards at the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Florida 2024 Gala + Awards. Coastal Vista’s team attended the awards banquet at the Orlando World Center Marriott to receive the awards. Coastal Vista Design staff in attendance included Leigh Gevelinger, PLA, founder of CVD; Alain Carrazana, landscape designer; Gabe Smith, construction site manager; and Rose Gilson, landscape designer.
CVD was recognized with the inaugural Firm of the Year Award for ASLA Florida. The award Recognizes a firm that has produced bodies of distinguished work influencing the professional practice of landscape architecture this past year.
CVD was also presented a Professional “Award of Merit” in the Commercial Category for landscape design of the Uline Collier Corporate Campus. ASLA Florida Professional Design awards are awarded based on “quality of design and execution; relationship to design context; environmental sensitivity and sustainability; relevant impact to the profession, public, and/or environment, and resilience strategies; and design value to the client, community, and to other designers”. The professional category of awards was sponsored by O’Donnell Landscapes.
