The Community House is kindly requesting Islanders to submit their Homemade cookies for a Cookie Baking Contest which will be judged on appearance, taste, and creativity. All bakers are encouraged to participate – see flyer for details.

Following the judging, all bakers are encouraged to attend, socialize, and exchange baking secrets with fellow bakers and tasters. In addition, all cookies will be made available for community snacking at the Ice Cream social taking place on Saturday, September 30th, 2 pm – 5 pm.

Come and help us celebrate “Community Reunited & You’re invited” event at The Community House.”

Some of us grew up in a home full of baking traditions with family recipes handed down from grandparents, some of us learned skills from reading Betty Crocker or watching Julia Child and some of us got hooked on baking with the explosion of food networks that encouraged us from the couch!

This friendly contest is for all those who enjoy baking and appreciate a super good cookie! Cookie entries may include:

  • Drop cookies
  • Rolled cookies
  • Shaped, stamped, filled cookies ie shortbread, fig bars, biscotti,
  • Bar cookies ie lemon bars, brownies, 7 layer, etc

Guidelines

  • Bakers must submit 2 dozen home baked cookies along with entry slip below to The Community House between 9am and 12 noon on Saturday Sept. 30.

  • Cookies will be judged on appearance, taste and creativity. A Peoples Choice selection will also be determined at the Community Reunited Ice Cream Social event later that

  • After judging, all cookies will be made available for community snacking (People’s Choice!) at the social. All bakers are encouraged to attend, socialize, and exchange baking secrets with fellow bakers and
