Community Housing and Resources of Sanibel (CHR), is proud to announce the donation of temporary use of one of their properties, Riverview, to be utilized by Sanibel Fire and Rescue. This generous gesture aims to support the dedicated efforts of the fire department in serving the community, both before and after the recent storm. Riverview affordable workforce housing will be demolished after the training exercises are completed.
Riverview, a property managed by CHR, will now serve as a temporary training facility for Sanibel Fire and Rescue, allowing Deputy Chief John D. Maria and Division Chief of Fire Prevention, Larry Williams, along with their crew, to conduct essential training exercises. The facility will provide a safe and practical environment for these first responders to enhance their skills and ensure the highest level of preparedness when responding to emergencies on the island.
“We are immensely grateful for the tireless efforts and hard work of Sanibel Fire and Rescue, especially during these challenging times. Their dedication to the safety and well-being of our community is truly commendable,” said Nicole Decker-McHale, Executive Director of CHR. “We are delighted to be able to support their mission by providing the use of Riverview, and we hope this contribution will help them continue their vital work.”
The donation of the use of Riverview is a testament to CHR’s commitment to fostering strong community partnerships and supporting organizations that play a crucial role in the well-being of Sanibel Island. By providing this space to Sanibel Fire and Rescue, CHR aims to facilitate collaboration and strengthen the overall emergency response capabilities of the island.
As Sanibel Island continues to recover from the recent storm, CHR remains dedicated to its mission of providing affordable housing solutions to those in need. By collaborating with essential service providers like Sanibel Fire and Rescue, CHR strives to create a stronger, more resilient community for all residents.
