Sanibel, FL – – July 29, 2021 – – S. Albert D. Hanser, Founder and Chairman of The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company is pleased to announce the appointment of T. John Costello, Jr., J.D., Senior Vice President to the Fiduciary Services Team, working in trust administration, estate settlement and family office services across the corporate footprint in Sanibel-Captiva, Naples-Marco Island and Tampa Bay.


Costello joins The Trust Company from Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, LLP of Naples, FL where he served as a senior associate focusing on estate planning, probate and trust administration, probate litigation, guardianships, and general business law.  “We are delighted to have someone of John’s caliber in the legal profession to complement our trust administration team,” said Hanser.  “He is a tremendous advantage for us and our clients.”


Earlier in his legal career Costello served as an associate at Wollman, Gehrke & Associates, P.A. of Naples, FL, Kelley Kronenberg, P.A. of Fort Myers, FL and Costello, Royston & Wicker LLP also of Fort Myers.  Prior to obtaining his juris doctor he was a software engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation of Melbourne, FL and San Diego, CA where he worked on radar systems for the United States Air Force.


Costello obtained his J.D. from Emory University School of Law, Atlanta, GA, graduating with honors. While there he participated in the Technological Innovation: Generating Economic Results (TI:GER) Program. He obtained his certificate in systems engineering from California Institute of Technology, Industrial Relations Center, San Diego, CA and his B.S. in Computer Science from Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL.


Costello’s memberships and admissions include the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar of which he held one of four coveted fellow positions (2014-2016), Collier County Bar Association, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and The Florida Bar.  He was also selected as a 2020 Top Lawyer in Trusts & Estates by Naples Illustrated magazine.
