The recovery and resurgence of Captiva and Sanibel Islands from Hurricane Ian is nowhere more amazing than ‘Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa of Captiva — as Thursday, July 6 marks the debut of Crow’s Nest Steakhouse, the second destination restaurant to open at the resort this summer.
Standing tall atop the new Shipyard Restaurant (named one of the “top 12 dining destinations in Southwest Florida” by the Fort Myers News-Press} — Crow’s Nest Steakhouse is the only second-level beachfront dining destination on the islands — and combines an extraordinary menu of aged steaks and Gulf-fresh seafoods, the largest collection of whiskeys from across the world (including in-house Shipyard whiskey), plus an inspiring, almost 180-degree vista of the Gulf of Mexico and its wondrous sunsets.
Crow’s Nest Steakhouse brings an intimate, almost speakeasy vibe to destination dining. The restaurant is open Tuesday – Saturday, 5 pm – 10 pm, by reservation only. The restaurant seats approximately 60 guests at its luxury tables and stylish bar. Patrons are seated upon availability, with no “standing room only” due to a desire for comfort and the many table side preparations guests can expect. Reservations for parties up to six can be made at the Crow’s Nest website or on Open Table; larger groups are requested to contact 239.472.5161 (Touch 423).
“The evolution of ‘Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa in 2023 has been the most satisfying year of my professional life,” says Doug Babcock, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts.
“The evolution of ‘Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa in 2023 has been the most satisfying year of my professional life,” says Doug Babcock, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts. “In the face of such adversity — and dramatic loss on a corporate level of three of our legendary beach resorts — ‘Tween Waters Captiva has shined. From embarking on significant lodging enhancements including the exterior re-imagination of two of our facilities, to expanded parking and an elevated tennis court, to a weather-friendly retractable roof on our Old Captiva House Garden Terrace al fresco seating, to the overwhelming success of our new Shipyard Restaurant, to the new Crow’s Nest Steakhouse, our goal is simply stated: Sanibel and Captiva Islands will rise better than ever and, in doing so, embrace more tourism to expand our local and regional economy.”
Kimmy McGonnell, newly-promoted Food & Beverage Director for Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts, explains that “Crow’s Nest Steakhouse is unlike any dining experience on the islands, and maybe Southwest Florida. With the culinary creations of our superior executive chefs, in-house aged steaks, daily Gulf-fresh seafoods, the largest portfolio of whiskeys with more than 50 brands from the U.S. and across the world, plus magnificent views and exemplary service — we promise to deliver a dining experience like you’ve never experienced, but will want to repeat again and again.”
