Sanibel Captiva Community Bank is excited to announce an initiative that puts philanthropy directly in the hands of its employees. Each employee received a $500 stipend to donate to a local cause of their choice, resulting in a $40,000 total donation by Sanibel Captiva Community Bank to the local community.

The bank’s initiative empowers employees to support the organizations and initiatives that matter most to them and help shape how the bank gives back to the community. Employees selected a range of local community causes for their donation, including A.N.A.’s Friends, Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties Inc., Valerie’s House, Captains For Clean Water, Songwriters for Vets, Southwest Florida Symphony, J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Family Initiative Inc., Gladiolus Food Pantry, Gulf Coast Humane Society, PACE Center for Girls, Calusa Nature Center, The Children’s Education Center of the Islands, Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation, Golisano Children’s Hospital and Trailways Camp among many others.

“At Sanibel Captiva Community Bank, we believe that community support starts from within,” said Amy McQuagge, vice president and director of marketing at Sanibel Captiva Community Bank. “By enabling our employees to choose where they direct this donation, we are encouraging charitable giving while reinforcing the importance of community engagement on a personal level.”

The stipend program is designed to support a broad range of local organizations, whether it’s human services, education, healthcare, environmental efforts or cultural initiatives. Each employee was able to choose an organization that reflects their personal passions and values, ensuring that the funds make an impact in diverse and meaningful ways across the community.
