F.I.S.H. is hosting SBA (Small Business Administration) agents on Mondays,
Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am-4pm. They will be available to assist and answer
questions related to Hurricane Ian disaster recovery. They have not been on the island
for several months, since the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center left the island. Now they
are back on island and ready to help with no appointments necessary.
On Mondays Social Services Director Nitza Lopez is available from 10am-4pm to help
with disaster relief, financial assistance, youth scholarships, emergency financial
assistance and more.
On Wednesdays community partner SalusCare hosts group discussions from 11:00-
12:30pm focusing on hurricane related topics including PTSD, trauma, and loss. From
12:30pm-2:00pm Laura Guarino, MA, LMHC, CBHCMS provides mini 1:1 sessions for
anyone who would like to meet individually. Project H.O.P.E. is also available from 2:00pm-
4:00pm to stop by for informal conversation about post storm trauma including mental exhaustion,
decision making, financial fears,e tc. No appointments are necessary.
On Fridays from 10am-4pm general F.I.S.H. services overview and assistance will be
available.
The Gathering Place @ St. Michael’s is located at 2304 Periwinkle Way, (in the building
that housed Noah’s Ark Thrift Shop, which will return once the main church buildings
are restored) but please enter off Dunlop Rd. Handicapped parking is available in front
of The Gathering Place.
