On December 5, BIG ARTS will host a Family Movie Night at 7:00 p.m. on the spectacular screen in Christensen Performance Hall. BIG ARTS will be showing the critically acclaimed Australian children’s film “H is for Happiness.” The only price of admission for children 17 and under is a canned good or nonperishable food item to be donated to FISH. The food items can be dropped off in the BIG ARTS box office in exchange for a children’s ticket. Adult admission is $5 per person. There will only be approximately 200 seats available in the Hall, so purchasing tickets in advance is strongly encouraged.
“H is for Happiness” is a joyful, fun, and meaningful film about the power of optimism and the resilience of the human spirit in overcoming life’s obstacles. It follows the story of Candice Phee, a girl with boundless optimism and a unique view of the world, who after being inspired by the strange new boy at school, sets out to mend her broken family.
“H is for Happiness” won the MIFF 2019 Top 10 Narrative Feature Films – Audience Award and Cinefest OZ, Australia’s largest cash film prize. It features an engaging 13-year-old Australian actress, Daisy Axon, in her first leading roll. Despite being a newcomer, Daisy has received praise from across the industry for her unforgettably vibrant performance.
Tickets are required for children, as well as for adults, and can only be arranged by calling 239-395-0900 or dropping off your food item at the box office. No tickets will be sold online. All Children must be accompanied by an adult.
BIG ARTS is practicing the highest standards of safety during this challenging time. All visitors are required to wear masks, and we ask that you are mindful of physical distancing. With physical distancing precautions in mind, BIG ARTS is selling only 50% of the seats in Christensen Performance Hall. Until further notice, only 200 seats will be available for any event in the Hall, and a maximum of 25 people will be allowed in the gallery at any given time. BIG ARTS has enhanced its air filtration system, all surfaces are wiped down between use, a professional sanitation fogger is being used after each gathering, and there are hand sanitation “stations” throughout the ground floor.
