Roots in Resilience invites the Sanibel community to a special evening of celebration and purpose at the Green Gala, taking place on Friday, December 20, at BIG ARTS, on Sanibel Island. This inspiring event will bring together residents, supporters, and friends to help re-green and restore the island’s public spaces, beginning with the revitalization of Causeway Boulevard.
The evening will begin with a cocktail hour featuring passed hors d’oeuvres, offering guests the chance to connect and share their love for the island in a relaxed and festive setting. Following the reception, attendees will enjoy a special screening of On Sanibel: The Hurricane Diaries, the 2025 Fort Myers Film Festival Audience Favorite. The film captures the strength, heart, and resilience of the Sanibel community in the aftermath of the storm, making it a fitting centerpiece for the evening.
Proceeds from the Green Gala will directly support Roots in Resilience’s ongoing efforts to restore native landscapes, enhance the beauty of shared spaces, and foster environmental stewardship across the island.
