Get ready for an egg-citing day of fun and community spirit! Families are invited to join in the biggest, most festive Egg Hunt of the season, sponsored by the Sanibel 50th Anniversary Workgroup in partnership with the Sanibel Recreation Center. The fun kicks off on Saturday, April 19th, at 10:00 AM at the Sanibel Ballfields—and you won’t want to miss a second!

 

Gates open at 9:30 AM, so grab your baskets and bring your best hunting skills for an unforgettable morning packed with egg-citement:

 

  • 10:15 AM – 4 y/o and Under
  • 10:30 AM – Grades K-3
  • 10:45 AM – Grades 4-8
  • 11:15 AM – Easter Bonnet/Cap Contest Winner Announced

 

Adding to the thrill, the Sanibel Fire Department will be on hand for an amazing Egg Drop from four stories in the air for each age/grade group! Watch in awe as eggs rain down from above, creating a spectacular and unforgettable experience for all participants.

 

This egg-stravaganza isn’t just about finding hidden treasures—it’s a full-blown celebration with games, crafts, and activities brought to you by local businesses and non-profits. And, of course, a very special guest—the Easter Bunny—will be hopping in to spread joy and snap some photos with the kiddos!

 

Feeling creative? Show off your holiday spirit in the Easter Bonnet and Hat Contest, where the most festive and fabulous headwear will take home awesome prizes! One prize will be awarded in each Egg Hunt division for the most creative Easter Bonnet or Cap! So, let’s see your best Easter bonnet with all the frills upon it!
