The past few years have been fraught with hurricanes in Southwest Florida. But from these hurricanes, there have been many stories of personal growth and transformations. One of these transformations is Monica Lopez of The Heights Foundation.
Monica is a Florida transplant of 6 years and through a very interesting path landed her in the Harlem Heights area volunteering with Disaster Relief. She is currently at The Heights Center coordinating the Seniors Program and blooming in her newly created role as Community Advocate.
The Sanibel-Captiva Rotary will be holding hybrid meetings both on Zoom and in person at the Community House, 2173 Periwinkle Way. Doors open at 7:30 a.m., the meeting begins at 8:00 a.m. For more information about Rotary, please visit sanibelrotary.org. All are welcome!
The Heights Center offers Harlem Heights seniors free programs designed to keep their older residents active and engaged in their community. Opportunities such as art activities, stretching and exercise sessions, trivia games, field trips, spiritual support, education and wellness programs and hot meals are offered to their residents.
