Offshore Sailing School President and CEO Doris Colgate announced the promotions of Joshua Julow from Operations Manager to Director of Operations overseeing field operations across the company’s six locations on Florida’s Gulf Coast and the British Virgin Islands. Randon Finkelstein has been promoted from Branch Manager, Fort Myers Beach, to U.S. Regional Manager, overseeing instructional staff and the company’s fleet of boats across the company’s four resort locations in Florida.

An addition to the Executive Management team is new Controller, Dana Matthews, who recently relocated from Virginia. The company’s controller Mike Roth is retiring. Two more recent additions joining America’s #1 Sailing School are Irma Devlin, Sales Associate at headquarters in South Fort Myers, and Nikita Graveney, Customer Service Representative at the company’s office at South Seas Island Resort on Captiva Island, Florida.

Doris said, “we were fortunate to have record sales in 2021, and already in 2022, we are ahead of projections. We are hiring additional instructors at all locations to meet higher demand.” In November 2022, the company will begin its 59th consecutive year of teaching sailing and powerboating certification courses and has taught more than 160,000 adults and families to date.

The company added a new Leopard 45 catamaran to its fleet in St. Petersburg, Florida, in January 2022, joining the company’s Jeanneau 479 and Colgate 26 at the newly renovated St. Pete Municipal Marina.

In addition to offering all levels of US Sailing and Powerboating certification, the company also hosts special Performance Race Week® events, like the one taking place at South Seas Island Resort, January 29 to February 4, 2023; Women’s Weeks for the popular Fast Track to Cruising® course; Colgate Sailing Adventures® hosted sailing vacations; corporate team building and leadership development programs.

Offshore Sailing School was founded in 1964 by Olympian, America’s Cup Sailor and National Sailing Hall of Fame Inductee, Steve Colgate. Doris Colgate joined Steve in running the Company in 1969 and both are still actively engaged in the business.
