Owen-Ames-Kimball Company (O-A-K), a leading general contractor with longstanding ties to Southwest Florida, hosted a heartwarming Easter celebration for seniors in The Heights Foundation’s Senior Program on Thursday, April 17 at The Heights Center in the Harlem Heights neighborhood.
The event was coordinated by O-A-K’s spring intern, Karla Perez Ortiz, in collaboration with Monica Lopez, Community Advocate and Coordinator of the Senior Program at The Heights Foundation. Meeting twice a week, the Senior Program offers a free, enriching space for older adults to stay active, connected, and creatively engaged within their community.
In the spirit of the season, participating seniors were invited to share a wish list of ingredients for a special Easter meal. The O-A-K team then fulfilled each list, assembling personalized grocery bags and presenting them at the celebration. Guests also enjoyed a festive buffet of healthy snacks.
“This event honored the various cultures of the Harlem Heights neighborhood,” said Kathryn Kelly, Founder, President, and CEO of The Heights Foundation/The Heights Center. “O-A-K went above and beyond by tailoring each meal gift bag to reflect individual preferences.”
