David Muench, the general manager of Periwinkle Park, has joined the Sanibel-Captiva Kiwanis Club, a service organization that supports children and families in need.
David, who has been managing Periwinkle Park since 2006, said he decided to join Kiwanis to become more involved in the community and to follow in the footsteps of his father, Dick Muench, who was a founding member of the club 50 years ago.
“I grew up seeing my dad’s dedication and commitment to Kiwanis and the causes they support,” David said. “He taught me the importance of giving back and helping others, and I want to honor his legacy and continue his work.”
David said he is looking forward to participating in the club’s various projects and activities, such as the annual Spaghetti Dinner, the Diner’s Delight coupon book, and the scholarships and grants for local students and organizations.
“I’m excited to meet new people and make new friends who share the same passion and vision for making a positive difference in our community,” he said. “I’m also eager to learn from their experiences and insights, and to contribute my own skills and ideas.”
David’s father, Dick Muench, who is still an active member of Kiwanis at age 80, said he is very proud of his son and his decision to join Kiwanis. “He is a fine young man who has done a great job running Periwinkle Park,” he said. “He has a big heart and a bright future ahead of him. I’m glad he decided to join our Kiwanis family.”
