A week after Ian ravaged our island, the General Manager of Periwinkle Park, David Muench and his crew arrived to begin the long recovery proccess.
With no services on island, David and his wife, Marisa, began providing lunches daily in their home for workers and residents nearby.
What began as a grass roots operation to provide a break and a hot meal to workers and residents quickly grew into an integral part of our healing.
Everyone used this time to chat, share and show support for each other.
Though providing lunched daily to 30 or more people is a daunting prospect, David and Marisa Muench are happy to be a part of Sanibel’s recovery.
All told, they have served more than 1400 lunches!
With spirit and determination like this, Sanibel is well on its way to rebuilding
