When gas was $.30 a gallon and you could buy a loaf of bread for 21 cents, Betty and Al Muench began developing 16 acres of land on Sanibel Island.
Almost 60 years later, Periwinkle Park has expanded to 32 acres & is now managed by the third generation of the Muench family.
It is the only campground and trailer park on Sanibel. Periwinkle Park embodies the laid back island feeling with a beautiful affordable community that welcomes snowbirds, residents and campers every year.
David Muench, general manager, has now put an emphasis on native plantings that add a lush tropical feel.
