Whereas Congress Jewelers relocated to Bell Tower in Fort Myers three months after Hurricane Ian, its owners always planned to return to their original Sanibel location at 2075 Periwinkle Way in Periwinkle Place shopping center. They did just that on Dec. 6, 2024, and on Feb. 6, they officially celebrated with a SanCap Chamber ribbon-cutting.

The retail operation will retain both locations stocked with similar merchandise, including Congress Jewelers’ famous Sealife by Congress collection.

“There is a completely different feel in the layout of our new store with a brighter and airier flow,” said owner Scot Congress. “Bringing the feel of the beach.”

“In operation for four generations, the Congress family means quality and personalized service to islanders and beyond,” said John Lai, president and chief executive office of the SanCap Chamber. “This is huge for the Sanibel shopping scene.”

“The support from our clientele and the chamber has been immeasurable,” Congress said. “The opening night was the chamber’s Luminary and really brought in the crowds. We saw over 1,400 people, ranking as the third best in history. Simply an amazing reception!”
