Maria Espinoza, executive director of F.I.S.H of SanCap, will speak at the March 19 business meeting of the SanCap Chamber, starting at 11:30 a.m. at Sundial Beach Resort on Sanibel Island. She will update members and other attendees about the various charitable programs F.I.S.H. offers residents and employees of Sanibel and Captiva islands.
“We are delighted to hear from Maria, who always brings good energy to the F.I.S.H. mission to enrich the lives of all people on the islands with social services, education, and assistance,” said John Lai, SanCap Chamber president and chief executive officer. “The nonprofit organization’s support of the community following recent hurricanes has made all the difference in bringing hope and concrete results to recovery efforts.”
Espinoza has been with F.I.S.H. since 2017, when she began volunteering with the organization after Hurricane Irma. Her commitment to the F.I.S.H. cause made her an obvious choice to advance as a full-time employee. Proving herself a committed organization advocate, she soon became the walk-in center manager and, later, director of food programs, assistant executive director, and now executive director,
Espinoza is dedicated to the community and always available to assist anyone in need or help staff solve problems. Multi-lingual, she often uses her language skills when communicating with F.I.S.H.’s diverse community of clients. She exemplifies professionalism and a can-do spirit.
The chamber business lunch is a monthly networking opportunity held at various member locations. The chamber strives to provide speakers to discuss business topics relevant to the membership. SanCap Chamber members receive meeting invitations by email. Cost for luncheon attendance is $35.
