Sanibel Arms West has added 67 units to Sanibel Island lodging inventory, with another 32 coming on by mid-summer. SanCap Chamber helped celebrate its Feb. 1 opening with a ribbon cutting at 832 E. Gulf Drive on April 10.
“It’s always a great day when we can welcome more accommodations to the islands’ post-hurricane recovery efforts,” said SanCap president and chief executive officer John Lai. “Sanibel Arms West brings both gulf-front and bayfront lodging to the ever-growing options on Sanibel.”
First developed in 1973, Sanibel Arms West offers two-bedroom condos. It fully renovated 57 units on the first floor.
“Currently, right now, we have a new refurbished tennis court, two dedicated pickleball courts, and a heated pool with screen enclosure,” said Gail Stine, board president. “Guests will find a brand-new elevated boardwalk directly to the beach, plus two other beach accesses with a ramp and sandy path, a grilling area, and refurbished shuffleboard courts.”
Projects still under way include a fitness room, boat docks, the community room, lighting, and landscaping.
“We love what the chamber has been doing to bring awareness to businesses reopening and the support that they provide all members,” said Stine. “We can’t wait to work and partner with the chamber in the future as we all recover.”
