On Saturday, April 17, the Kiwanis Club will host the inaugural “King of the Rock” Sanibel Stroke Play Championship at the Dunes Golf & Tennis Club.  Open to players of all skill levels, the tournament will provide an opportunity to play 18 holes of “tournament golf” in the beautiful natural setting of the Dunes  and to compete for recognition as one of the Island’s top golfers!

Your round of golf will be followed by lunch and presentation of prizes and trophies to the top finishers. Entry fee is $125 per player plus tax.  All proceeds from “King of the Rock” will benefit the SanCap Kiwanis Scholarship Fund, providing educational assistance to Island youth.  Entry forms can be obtained at the Dunes Golf Shop or downloaded from the Kiwanis website at: www.sanibelkiwanis.org.  Checks for the entry fee should be made out to: Kiwanis Foundation.

The Tournament is being organized with Men’s and Women’s Divisions. Players will be grouped into flights and assigned to use tees I, II, III and IV based on their handicap. Any player may request to compete in the Championship Flight, from which the overall Tournament Champion will be named.

Sponsorships are available to interested businesses and individuals (Hole Sponsorship – $150; Corporate Sponsorships — $2,500).   Major sponsors supporting the Tournament include:  Sanibel Captiva Community Bank, Coastal Title, Superior Title Services, Pfeifer Realty Services, Midland Trust, Ron Souders, and John Schubert.
