The city of Sanibel and SanCap Chamber, co-presenters of the forthcoming 50th anniversary of Sanibel’s incorporation, announce the naming of Sanibel Captiva Community Bank as the top-level, exclusive Gold Sponsor for the 13-month celebration starting Nov. 5, 2024.
“We are beyond thrilled and thankful to accept this check for $50,000 to get community support for the anniversary program kick-started,” said John Lai, SanCap Chamber president and CEO. “Sanibel Captiva Community Bank has been a pillar of community patronage for decades, and this generous gesture demonstrates its interest in the good of the islands and the inherent importance of honoring this auspicious occasion.”
The 50th anniversary of the city’s incorporation in 1974 will kick off a continuous celebration with island businesses and organizations ending with Holiday Luminary on Dec. 6, 2025. For more information, visit 50YearsofSanibel.com.
Although Sanibel Captiva Community Bank holds the honor as the sole Gold Sponsor, other sponsorship and support opportunities exist. Two Silver sponsorships at $25,000 each and two Bronze sponsorships at $10,000 each are still available. To become a sponsor, contact Lai at 239-472-2348 or [email protected].
For individuals, there are $1,000 Seashell sponsorships. Any gift amount earns donors the designation Friend of the 50th.
“The Charitable Foundation of the Islands is excited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the city of Sanibel’s incorporation, and we stand ready to facilitate philanthropic investments in our community’s road to recovery through the Economic Revitalization Fund,” said CFI’s Dolly Farrell, who serves on the 50th anniversary Fundraising Committee, along with Al Hanser, Chip Roach and Jeff Muddell.
