Sanibel Captiva Community Bank is proud to announce the promotion of Jim Koenen to assistant vice president. Koenen joined the bank in 2024 as a residential loan officer based in its Winkler Branch at 7040 Winkler Road, Fort Myers. Koenen also serves the bank’s Gateway Branch at 11691 Gateway Blvd., Fort Myers.
Before joining the bank, Koenen consulted directly with loan officers at a variety of financial organizations throughout the county, including banks, credit unions and independent mortgage brokers. He has extensive residential lending experience in mortgage and consumer lending, as well as an extensive background in mortgage programs for real estate investors. His background also includes expertise in jumbo loan transactions and non-qualified mortgage programs, such as alternative documentation and debt service coverage ratio, as well as traditional residential lending and down payment assistance programs.
Koenen earned a bachelor of science degree in business and marketing from Saint Cloud State University – Herberger Business School.

In Fort Myers, at the bank’s McGregor Branch, located at 15975 McGregor Blvd., the staff is operating out of a temporary mobile banking unit due to major flood damage to the existing building. Construction on the new building is underway and is expected to be completed in 2025. The bank recently purchased property on Fort Myers Beach for its ninth and newest location opening in 2026.
