The Sanibel Captiva Lions Club announces the opening of applications for the Frances Bailey
scholarships. The scholarships are named after Francis Bailey, one of the founders of the
Sanibel Captiva Lions Club and a longtime member. The scholarships are for post-secondary
education. The scholarships are available to students who live or work or whose parents live or
work on Sanibel or Captiva. The scholarships are in the amount of $3,000 per year and are
renewable for up to four years as long as the person remains a full-time student in good
standing. The scholarships are only for undergraduate or technical education and not for
graduate education. The scholarships are based on academic performance and financial need.
