The Sanibel FlyFishers Club is thrilled to announce that after nearly two years of planning, we will host renowned angler and former Olympian Andy Mill as our guest speaker for our upcoming meeting on February 13, 2025. This is a special day for our club, and we invite all flyfishing enthusiasts to join us for an unforgettable experience!
Andy Mill, a legendary downhill ski racer turned tarpon fishing expert, has made a remarkable mark in the fishing world. With five Gold Cup Tarpon Tournament victories and the prestigious Tarpon Fishing “triple crown” under his belt, Andy’s expertise is unparalleled. If tarpon fishing were an Olympic sport, he would undoubtedly be a gold medalist.
In addition to his talk, Andy will showcase his exceptional casting skills with a live demonstration from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the field near the Community House. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just starting out, this demonstration is not to be missed!
But that’s not all! Andy will arrive in Sanibel early on February 13 and will enjoy lunch with a select group of four club members for a semi-private casting lesson. We are currently finalizing the details of this exclusive opportunity, so stay tuned for more information!
As always, our monthly meeting will take place from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Sanibel Community House, located at 2173 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. We will provide pizza and soft drinks, and we appreciate any donations to help cover the cost of food.
Join us for an exciting evening filled with fishing knowledge, camaraderie, and the chance to learn from a true legend in the sport. We look forward to seeing you there!
