Community Housing and Resources, Inc. (CHR) is a non-profit organization that provides affordable housing for families and individuals who work and serve our island community. CHR is delighted to welcome Shelley Greggs as its newest board member.
Shelley Greggs is a long-time Sanibel homeowner who became a full-time resident in 2008 with her husband Bill and their two children. She has a background in school psychology and education, having worked in the public school system in Cincinnati, Ohio, and as an adjunct faculty at Florida Southwestern State College. She is also a certified yoga instructor and teaches at the Sanibel Recreation Center.
Shelley has a strong commitment to volunteering and community service. She started volunteering at a women’s shelter in Newark, New Jersey, when she was in high school and has continued to be involved in various volunteer organizations throughout her life. On Sanibel, she has volunteered for CHR fundraising, SCCF education and events committee, Sanibel Sea School, FISH, Big Brothers tutor, and served as a SCCF board member from 2016 to 2020. She cares deeply about environmental conservation, education, and social justice.
CHR is thrilled to have Shelley on the Board of Directors and looks forward to her valuable input and support for its mission of providing affordable housing for the island’s workforce.
