Beginning Tuesday, September 8, 2020 Turner Beach Park will be closed to the public. Construction is scheduled to continue until November 6, 2020. Turner Beach Park will NOT be available for use during this construction project. The City of Sanibel apologizes for any inconvenience you may experience while this important public improvement project is completed. Alternate public beach access can be found at Bowman’s Beach Park, located at 1700 Bowman’s Beach Road, Sanibel, Florida.
The scope of the project includes the removal and replacement of the rip-rap revetment along the south side of the park, drainage improvements throughout the entire park, ADA accessibility improvements and dune restoration. The City of Sanibel has contracted with Thomas Marine Construction, Inc. to perform this work. The Lee County Tourist Development Council (TDC) is providing funding for this project.
