Dana shared an optimistic and timely update on the state of the City of Sanibel, highlighting strong recovery progress across the island, including continued gains in accommodations, vacation rentals, and retail. He also outlined several key projects underway, such as a new police station, stormwater improvements, and the development of a strategic energy plan, all aimed at strengthening the island’s infrastructure and long‑term resiliency.
Additional updates included ongoing efforts to explore new revenue sources, advance stormwater funding initiatives, move forward with major planning efforts, and invest in future‑focused projects such as broadband resiliency and updated beach and floodplain management plans.
