The 2024 Sanibel Shell Show at the Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort, (just before the Sanibel Causeway), is THE Place to find all types of shell-oriented treasures in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, colors and patterns! This world-class, juried shell show draws mollusk enthusiasts from across the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia and the world. It offers something special for everyone.
Sponsored and run by the Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club, (SCSC), there will be more than 300 ARTISTIC and SCIENTIFIC entries to see and admire. The Scientific Division provides visitors with amazing educational displays from around the world. The Artistic Division offers stimulating creations such as Sailor’s Valentines, floral arrangements, shell tables, trees, wreaths and even designs from three (3) artistic exhibitors from Japan. It’s a very competitive show open to all shell collectors, scientists, and artists.
Shell Show doors will be open on Friday and Saturday, March 8th and 9th from 9am – 4pm, with a requested $5 cash donation from attendees, who will each receive a bag of locally collected Sanibel shells. Vendors of many types of shell-oriented items will enable you to fulfill your shelling dreams, and a marine biologist will be on hand with live mollusks. Two well-known shell experts will help identify your shells, there will be scavenger hunts for kids, and a live auction round out the offerings.
Proceeds from the Sanibel Shell Show support the Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club’s Grants Program. Your donations enable SCSC to give grants towards education and research in the fields of conchology and malacology, as well as for conservation and water quality projects, primarily in Southwest Florida. To date, the Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club has donated more than $400,000 to grant recipients!
