Inga Archer grew up on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia, in a small coastal town. Living by the sea, she has always loved everything to do with the beach, including surfing, swimming, snorkeling, fishing and beachcombing.  Her love of the sea shaped her hobbies, her daily activities and her artwork.  One of her amazing artistic creations will be competing for prizes at the 2024 Sanibel Shell Show at the Marriott Sanibel Harbour on March 8th and 9th.

Ms Archer began her artistic career trying to make flowers out of shells.  Since shell art was not very popular in Australia, she turned to the internet to learn how to develop her artistic skills with shells.  In doing so, she discovered a big, new world and a new circle of friends within the shell community.  Since then, her primary forte has become creating exquisite floral bouquets, table decorations, candle holders and jewelry.

The 2024 Sanibel Shell Show will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 8th and 9th, at the Marriott Sanibel Harbour, just before the Sanibel Causeway.  Show hours are from 9am – 4pm, and a cash donation of $5 is requested.  Free Parking is available.

Sponsored by the Sanibel-Captiva Shell Club, the Sanibel Shell Show is the club’s annual fundraiser that provides research and education grants to local non-profits such as the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum and Aquarium, and the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Commission (SCCF).  These grants support work in water quality, conservation, malacology and conchology.
