BIG ARTS is hosting a variety of virtual programming as part of their 2021 season. For the first time, you can enjoy BIG ARTS gallery exhibits, lecture series and select workshops from the comfort of your own home.

In response to the pandemic, BIG ARTS launched their first virtual gallery back in June with Joshua Horkey’s exhibit “Fight or Flight” and has continued to offer a virtual component with each new exhibit to date.  The current exhibit is the Sanibel-Captiva Art League’s 45th Annual Juried Art Council of SW Florida Exhibit: “Exploration.”  By visiting BIGARTS.org, patrons can take a virtual stroll through a high-definition 3D rendering of the Dunham Family Gallery and view this wonderful collection of work by local artists.

Starting January 6 with Jeff Selingo’s FORUM lecture, BIG ARTS will live stream not only all the FORUM lecturers, but also all six Talking Points presenters direct and live from the Christensen Performance Hall.  The FORUM, typically a sold-out subscription series, will for the first time be live streamed direct from Christensen Performance Hall and is open to the public for virtual sales.

Those who purchase a virtual ticket will receive a link via email, which they can use to log in at the time of the event. BIG ARTS will also include instructions on how to view the live stream on their television at home. Those who purchase the stream will even be able to participate in the live Q&A by texting a phone number that will be provided on screen.

“It’s really incredible what our staff has done to work this out logistically over the last few months. Their hard work has opened a whole new door of possibilities for BIG ARTS. We can now share the programming we are so passionate about with a much wider audience,” said Lee Ellen Harder, BIG ARTS Executive Director.
