The Captiva Civic Association is delighted to announce the successful opening night event for the Rauschenberg Residency: Explorations and Experimentation. The event took place on November 2 at the Civic Center, marking the beginning of a captivating exhibition that showcases the artistic legacy of Robert Rauschenberg Residency Program.

The reception was a vibrant celebration of art, community, and the enduring impact of Robert Rauschenberg, who called Captiva home for 40 years. Through his vision and dedication, Rosenberg left a lasting legacy, including the establishment of the residency program that has nurtured the creativity of countless artists.

The exhibit features the works of 30 talented artists who have participated in the residency program, each bringing their unique perspectives and artistic styles to the forefront. Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a world of artistic exploration and experimentation, as they witness the transformative power of art.

The opening night event was a resounding success, with attendees being treated to a delightful array of refreshments and live music. The ambiance was electric, as art enthusiasts and community members came together to appreciate the incredible talent on display.

CCA Executive Director, Emily Ankerson, extends her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the opening night event. Special thanks are extended to our sponsor, Bank the Islands, for their generous support and commitment to the arts and community development.

As the Rauschenberg Residency… Explorations and Experimentation continues, the Captiva Civic Association invites art enthusiasts and community members to visit the exhibition and experience the transformative power of art firsthand. Immerse yourself in the creative world that Robert Rosenberg helped build, and witness the profound impact that art can have on individuals and communities.
