Bank of the Islands President Robbie Roepstorff is happy to announce the next Thankful Tuesday – the Bank’s ongoing event series supporting our island community’s continuing recovery and resilient spirit after Hurricane Ian.
“For Thankful Tuesday on the 4th, as we welcome in springtime and Easter, we hope everyone will stop by our Sanibel office to pick a golden Easter egg from our drawing basket,” said Roepstorff. “All eggs will have cash inside, and five special eggs will have $100 each inside… one could be yours! We will also be offering iced water, coffee and doughnuts and look forward to greeting you.”
Bank of the Island staffers will also be distributing We Love Our Islands vehicle decals. “This program lets a winning islander choose which non-profit will receive the Bank’s next donation. Over the years, more than $90,000 has been distributed through We Love Our Islands,” said Roepstorff. “The next donation will be as much as $2,000! Now’s the time to place a new We Love Our Islands decal on your vehicle to help us support our island non-profits. Check weekly at our office or on our website to see if your tag number has been chosen as the winner. It’s just another way of showing how proud we are to support our islands.”
The April 4 Thankful Tuesday will be held at the Bank’s Sanibel office from 9-noon, with giveaways being offered while supplies last.
The Thankful Tuesdays program started in early November, with Bank of the Islands inviting neighbors and customers to visit the Sanibel office for refreshment and renewal. Previous offerings of support have included coffee, doughnuts, boxed lunches, 4,000 pounds of bagged ice, stocking stuffers, stress-relieving seated massages, and Valentine’s chocolates and roses to lift the spirits of islanders working on their homes and businesses. Last month’s giveaway featured vegetation recycling bags and shredding services to assist in safe document disposal.
The Bank of the Islands’ offices, including ATM operations, have both reopened after the hurricane. The Captiva office, located next to the Captiva Post Office at 14812 Captiva Drive, is open from 9am-2pm Monday-Friday, with a half-hour lunch closure at noon. The Bank’s Sanibel office is offering banking services from 9am-4pm Monday-Friday out of its temporary on-site operation on premise at 1699 Periwinkle Way at Casa Ybel Road. In addition, the Edison National Bank offices in Fort Myers at 13000 S. Cleveland Avenue and the River District office at 2105 First Street will continue to welcome all of the Bank’s island customers.
