Local resident, Frances Tutt, shared her experiences and tips on how to create a thriving, organic vegetable garden on the islands. Tutt has learned that Southwest Florida is a unique and challenging ecosystem, much different from the one she gardened back in Maryland. She provided resources to help gardeners of all levels, through books and You-Tube video recommendations.

Tutt has unique experiences while working as a food scientist for McCormick & Company, a spice and extract manufacturing company located in Maryland. She was employed with McCormick for 30 years in the industrial flavor division and, before retiring as a principal scientist in 2018, worked with flavor chemists to develop beverages for huge manufacturing companies such as Anheuser-Busch.

Frances donated plants, Everglade tomatoes and other cuttings that were auctioned off.
