Bank of the Islands is collecting much needed supplies for the annual Back to School Drive being run by F.I.S.H. of Sanibel-Captiva. Donations can be dropped off from July 1-22 at the Bank’s Sanibel location at 1699 Periwinkle Way.

“The cost of school supplies is making it harder for some island families to send their kids off to school ready for their coursework,” said Bank of the Islands President Robbie Roepstorff. “This is an immediately helpful example of the essential services F.I.S.H. provides for our neighbors in need. Please consider shopping for everything from calculators to backpacks to pens, pencils and paints. Students from K-12 really need your donations this month before the fall semester starts in August.”

According to F.I.S.H., students are more confident in their ability to learn if they arrive equipped for the school day. More than 300 students benefited from this program last year and the demand is expected to be the same or greater this year.
